Application Instructions

The online housing application is available through WebSTAC. Below you will find instructions on how to accurately complete this form.

This screen provides each individual student with important information about returning student application and payment, including:

Terms and Conditions

  1. Thoroughly read and familiarize yourself with the presented Terms and Conditions. This housing application is a binding contract and the Terms and Conditions outline all rules and regulations of Washington University Residential Life housing.
  2. After reading, select the check box at the end of the document to signify that you have read and agree to the rules and regulations outlined by the Terms and Conditions.
  3. When complete, click on the “continue” button to advance to the application page.

Create Application

This section has four different steps outlined below:

STEP 1: Student Information

  1. Class level next year: select class level you will be for the upcoming academic year.
  2. Entry status: Select your current housing status.
  3. Abroad intent: Select your intent for studying abroad (this selection is not a commitment).
  4. Gender: Select your gender.
  5. Contact phone numbers: Please enter your cell phone and fax numbers. Make sure your WebSTAC “contact information” is up to date for correspondence regarding your housing contract.
  6. Special housing request: Please indicate if you are submitting a housing request for medical or disability considerations.
  7. Select ‘continue’ to advance to the next step.

STEP 2: Meal Plan Options

  1. Meal plan options: Select a meal plan from the options. All students are required to have a meal plan. Students who live in off-campus apartments are allowed to select, at a minimum, an off-campus plan.  You will also be asked if you will be requesting dining accommodations because of a food allergy, intolerance or other related disability.
  2. Select ‘continue’ to advance to the next step.

STEP 3: Room Charges & Preferences

  1. Room charges and preferences: Rank your preferences for housing, with ‘1’ being your top choice.
  2. Personal preferences: Select the answer that is most accurate with your living habits.
  3. Select ‘continue’ to advance to the next step.

STEP 4: Review and Submit

  1. Dates of occupancy, room charges, room assignments: Read through each section and make sure you fully understand the Terms and Conditions. This contract cannot be cancelled without a financial penalty.
  2. Application Fee: Select the box to either (1) accept the $450 application fee which will be immediately applied to your student account, or (2) accept that you are not immediately responsible for the application fee due to financial aid.
  3. Declaration of intent: Read carefully through this section and check the box to agree to the all outlined statements.
  4. Cancellation: Check the box to show you understand that the contract cannot be cancelled without a financial penalty.
  5. Review/print application: IF YOU ARE 18 AND OVER: Click to review your application. Carefully read through every item to ensure that answers are correct. IF YOU ARE UNDER 18: After reviewing your application and ensuring that answers are correct, print a copy of the application. Obtain parent/guardian signature and return or fax it to the Office of Residential Life at 314-935-4001.
  6. After reviewing, click ‘submit application’ to submit.
  7. Note: students can update their online application through mid-June through WebSTAC.
