Liggett/Koenig Residential College is known for its intense pride and determined commitment to students and community. The Liggett/Koenig undergraduate leaders (12 Resident Advisors, 3 Residential Peer Mentors, 2 Residential Peer Health Educators) and graduate leader (1 Graduate Fellow) passionately work to create an inclusive community devoted to leadership, service, and learning. Working alongside the student leaders, the faculty involved in Liggett Koenig (four faculty associates and one faculty fellow) work to connect with students in authentic ways and create a seamless learning environment where academics and activities are created together to foster student success. Students in Liggett/Koenig (about 160 first years in Koenig and 100 upperclass students in Liggett) are empowered to connect with students, staff, and faculty across campus, take action for issues they are passionate about, and explore their own identity. Whether in Koenig House, a modern style residence hall, or Liggett House where students live in suites, Liggett/Koenig Residential College is a family that supports one another and actively challenges one another to engage in dialogue regarding the issues we all face; our connectedness with one another in support and spirit is mirrored in our physical design as Liggett and Koenig Houses are connected. L/K is also connected to the St. Louis community by its partnership a service site. Traditions are a huge part of how L/K builds community. The Liggett/Koenig staff and college council host a WeLKome Week, induction ceremony, trip to the Fox theatre, 100 Days semi-formal, skating in Forest Park on Super Bowl Sunday, and trips outside of the St. Louis area. It is the positive attitude and L/K enthusiasm that make Liggett/Koenig not only a great place to live, but a great place to live, learn, and grow.
