Courtney E. Brewster was born and raised in Memphis, TN. Educated in a public school system, she began playing the violin at age 12 and assumed the position of concertmaster from her Alma Mater, Overton High School of Performing Arts. During her time at Hope College, Courtney was introduced to the world of Student Affairs through holding multiple leadership positions and being actively involved in her college community. After graduation, Courtney pursued a career in Student Affairs at Syracuse University as an Assistant Residence Director. While at Syracuse, she completed her Masters of Science Degree in Cultural Foundations of Education, as well as taught a course in the Intergroup Dialogue program. Continuing her journey, Courtney served as a Hall Director at Iowa State University as well as the Assistant Director of Student Diversity and Inclusion Services at St. Thomas University.
